Op Vrydag 7 Mei 2021 het graad 10-leerders van Augsburg Landbougimnasium hulle klaskamer vir die buitelug verruil as deel van hulle jaarlikse deelname aan die Iimbovane Projek.
The outdoor environment offers plenty of learning opportunities and what place can be better than South Africa with its diverse environments where learners can spread out and reap the benefits of the great outdoors.
When the Iimbovane Project recently reconnected with a few of its alumni, Romeo Nissen, who participated in Iimbovane as Grade 10 learner at Swartberg Secondary School in Caledon, agreed to share his experiences as a varsity student.
Data collected by educators and learners participating in the Iimbovane Outreach Project contributed to an article that was recently published in the scientific journal, Journal of Animal Ecology.
Thanks to the support from the Mapula Trust, we project team will be able to expose approximately 1 200 Grade 10 learners from 17 schools in the Western Cape to biodiversity while helping them develop much needed practical science skills.
