Congratulations to Dr Bih Chendi on her successful application to join the VALIDATE Network as an Associate Member! VALIDATE is a global network of interdisciplinary researchers focused on tackling some of the world’s most challenging infectious diseases—particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). These include diseases caused by mycobacteria (like TB and leprosy), leishmanias, and Burkholderia pseudomallei.
With a PhD jointly awarded by the University of Oslo and Stellenbosch University, Dr Chendi has made significant contributions to biomarker research for TB diagnosis and treatment monitoring, with a focus on translating research into clinical tools.

Dr Chendi brings to VALIDATE a wealth of expertise in biomarker validation, immunodiagnostics, and translational TB research, alongside her growing leadership profile as a mentor and project lead within ChegouLab within the Immunology Research Group at Stellenbosch University.
