MBHG researcher awarded distinguished EDCTP Fellowship

Congratulations Dr Suventha Moodley

Dr Moodley, a postdoctoral researcher in the Division of Molecular Biology and Human Genetics at Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, was recently awarded a three-year Career Development Fellowship from the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP).

The EDCTP supports clinical research, research capacity development and international networking in order to accelerate the clinical development of effective, safe, accessible, suitable and affordable medical interventions for poverty-related infectious diseases affecting sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr. Moodley’s research, as part of the Clinical Mycobacteriology and Epidemiology (CLIME) Group within the MBHG Division, investigates the role of the microbiome, microbiome-associated metabolites, and antimicrobial resistance during various stages of the TB disease spectrum.
