Open access to research information
Stellenbosch University including the Library and Information Service, supports open access to scholarly research. You are welcome to read more about the open access initiatives at our University on the web page for Open Access. Initiatives include amongst others:
- SUNScholar: SUNScholar is an open access electronic archive for the collection, preservation and distribution of digital materials created by researchers of Stellenbosch University, which are of great academic research importance.
- SUNJournals: A hosting service for open access online journals. This is a collaborative effort between the Library and Information Service and academic departments and other units affiliated with Stellenbosch University, in support of the mission and strategy of the University.
- SUNConferences: Host, manage and publish conferences and conference proceedings online.
Uploading of theses for the December 2012 graduation
Departments are invited to proceed with nominating, uploading and approving theses. The final date for submissions is 29 November 2012. For more information about University policy and procedures, click here.
Retrospective theses and articles
Many items on SUNScholar have the full text attached, but unfortunately there are also many without the full text. If you can provide us with the full text of research articles (or full references to these) and theses from previous years, we would very much like to make these files available on SUNScholar after copyright has been cleared.
