Global pathways, local impact

Empowering South Africans to engage confidently with China

The Confucius Institute at Stellenbosch University (CISU) was established in late 2004 through a partnership between Stellenbosch University and Xiamen University in China. As part of Stellenbosch University International (SUI), CISU promotes engagement between South Africa and China through language learning, education and cultural exchange.

CISU collaborates with Worcester Gymnasium and Rietenbosch Primary School through its Confucius Classrooms. It also partners with local schools, communities, institutions and businesses to offer educational and cultural programmes.
