Chinese Language Classes

(for ages 16+)

CISU offers non-credit-bearing Chinese language classes designed for anyone aged 16 and above who wishes to learn Mandarin and gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture. Classes are open to Stellenbosch University students, staff, and members of the public.

Course Details

  • Tuition: Free (R500 registration fee per semester)
  • Type: Non-credit-bearing
  • Levels: Beginner to Advanced (HSK 1–4)
  • Format: In-person and online options available
  • Minimum Participants: 5 per class
  • Start Dates 2026:
  • Duration: 10 weeks (1.5 hours, twice per week)

  • Join the “CISU General Opportunities” WhatsApp Group
  • Connect with group admin and provide your full name and surname
  • Indicate your Chinese level.
  • Wait to be added to your class-specific WhatsApp group.

Wait for Confirmation Before Paying

  • Classes require a minimum of 5 participants to open.
  • Do not pay the registration fee until your teacher confirms.
  • Once confirmed, follow the payment instructions.

  • Registration Fee: R500 per semester (tuition-free)

  • Send proof of payment (POP) to your language teacher.
