China Summer & Winter Camps

The Confucius Institute at Stellenbosch University (CISU) offers short-term cultural and language immersion camps in China for eligible students and learners. These camps provide participants with the opportunity to experience Chinese culture first-hand while improving their Chinese language skills and building connections with students in China.

Participants will engage in language learning, cultural activities, and visits to historical and scenic sites, gaining valuable international exposure and insight into Chinese society.

 

Programme Details

Length: 10 days
Dates: Every July and December

 

Programme Content

Participants will take part in:

  • Introductory Chinese language classes
  • Courses on Chinese history and culture
  • Cultural exchange activities with local students
  • Visits to famous scenic sites and historical landmarks in China

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Age: Between 14 and 30 years old
  2. Background: Non-native speakers of Chinese
  3. Chinese proficiency: HSK Level 2 or YCT Level 3 or above
  4. Health condition: Physically fit for international travel
  5. Previous participation: Applicants must not have participated in this programme within the past three years
