Gugu Gama from EucXylo attended a scientific communication workshop in Namibia from 13-17 June 2022. This workshop was organized by Stellenbosch University as part of their Emerging Scholars Initiative (ESI). The program runs as joint school with the University of Namibia and focused on scientific writing and equipping scholars with academic writing and publishing skills.

The scientific communication program hosted 30 emerging scholars, of which five were doctoral students from Stellenbosch University. Some of the topics that the program focused on included structuring of academic articles, internal coherence, graphics, abstract structure, digital tools for writing and dealing with reviewer feedback.
The program was highly beneficial to all scholars and provided a space for learning as well as joint African research.
