Last month, the Iimbovane project team came to together with educators, researchers, students, practitioners, NGO’s and supporters of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for the 41st Annual Conference of the Environmental Education Association of Southern Africa (EEASA).
The Conference, held in Gauteng from 18th to 22nd September 2023, and the theme ‘Education, Advocacy, and Action to Advance ESD in Southern Africa’, underscored the important role that education plays in shaping a sustainable and prosperous future for the region.
One of the goals EEASA 2023 was to showcase local/regional projects and programmes and Iimbovane was invited to present a poster.
The poster titled, ‘Tales from the timid and untamed’, gave a reflection on Iimbovane’s partnership with the education team of the conservation working group – Cape Leopard Trust.
Iimbovane and Cape Leopard Trust has partnered since 2017 and successfully hosted a number of environmental education events, from weekend camps and day programmes for learners to educator development workshops. The poster highlighted the partnership activities, shared goals, outputs and the lessons learnt.
