EucXylo proud of its graduating students!

We are very proud to announce the graduation of two EucXylo students.

First, Rafael Keret, now Dr. Keret, who received his Ph.D. in March 2024! The purpose of his research was to investigate how the wood anatomy of Eucalyptus grandis is influenced by water availability, and what transcriptomic role players (i.e. expressed genes) are involved in the adaptive xylem structure. The research was supervised by Prof. David Drew and Dr. Paul Hills. You can read more about his research here.

We also have Lucy Nevhungwili, who received her M.Sc. in March 2024! The purpose of her research was to investigate the short-term variation in stem radial growth and the dynamics of the cambial and differentiating xylem zones among different Eucalyptus varieties to the onset of drought and reactivation under spring conditions. The research was supervised by Prof. David Drew and Dr. Michelle Eckert. You can read more about her research here.

We know these students have worked very hard and we are so proud of the young researchers they have become! We wish you all the best in your new journey and will never forget you!
