Our weather station at IMPACT is up-and-running!

The automatic weather station at our IMPACT Open-Air Lab is now installed!

Installing the AWS

After testing in the nursery area at the Department of Forestry and Wood Science to confirn that everything is working well,  our GEMS Sensing AWS has finally been deployed at the IMPACT Open-Air Lab. Recording all relevant meteorological variables, it will be foundational for most of the research work we are undertaking at the site.

The installation of the GEMS weather station could not have been possible without the partnership with Jan Greyling and the agro-informatics group from the faculty.

Thanks to Jan Greyling, Oluwaseun Gakenou, and Richard Carkeek for their help in setting it up.
