The S.A. Agulhas II departs for Marion Island

It’s that time of the year again – the Marion Island annual relief voyage. The S.A. Agulhas II will be transporting over 100 people to sub-Antarctic Marion Island today.
Scientists of different South African tertiary institutions, staff of the Department of Environmental Affairs, staff of the National Department of Public Works (who will be giving some attention to the maintenance of the research station) and the 74th Overwintering Team will be on-board the vessel.
