The Geology and Soil Science Session at the 2016 SANAP Symposium held at the University of Pretoria last month was chaired by Dr Thulani Makhalanyane (Lecturer at Pretoria University) and covered research conducted mainly in Antarctica in western Dronning Maud Land.
During the session Dr David Hedding (Lecturer at the University of South Africa) gave a very interesting talk on the topography of sub-Antarctic Marion Island, indicating that Marion was somewhat bigger during the Last Glacial Maximum.
