On 1 September 2022, the National Research Foundation (NRF) held its annual NRF Awards in Cape Town. The awards honour outstanding South African researchers. Prof Sandra Liebenberg, the HF Oppenheimer Chair in Human Rights Law, was awarded an A-rating. Prof Liebenberg was one of ten researchers from Stellenbosch University to receive an award.
