World TB Month saw the Desmond Tutu TB Centre host its much-anticipated Annual Dissemination Day on 14 March 2025 at the Stellenbosch Biomedical Research Institute (BMRI) auditorium.
This yearly event had hundreds of gathered stakeholders across DTTC’s research sites, university and academic partners and community collaborators joining together to present and discuss the many projects and achievements of the centre over the past 12 months.
All of the various research areas and support services as well as the DTTC Community Advisory Board were able to present the innumerable success stories within the centre over the past year.
A joyous and fruitful occasion that showcases the brilliant work and approaches of DTTC across all of its services.
The theme of the day was: “Celebrating 20 years of global leadership in TB and HIV research!” This as the Desmond Tutu TB Centre celebrates its 20th Anniversary year.
Special thanks much go out to the keynote speaker Dr. Lenny Naidoo – Specialized Health Manager for the City of Cape Town – who broadly contextualised the existing challenges in the health policy and research landscape around the management of TB and HIV in our communities.
In all it was recognised as a fantastic forum for sharing and contextualising the ongoing work across all units at the centre. An interactive quiz for the audience saw guests receive prizes for their awareness of DTTC projects.
Thanks also goes out to the organising team, all speakers and attendees on the day!
