This joint conference of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Theology will take place from 26 – 28 May 2014 and will focus on the theme “Law and Religion in Africa – The Quest for the Common Good in Pluralistic Societies” as well as the following subthemes:
- African traditional law / religion
- Human rights and human dignity ( which includes discussion regarding children, disabled persons, the elderly and women)
- Law, religion and ecological issues (which includes discussion regarding the ecology, climate change and fracking)
- Theological approaches to the theme (all disciplines)
- Philosophical approaches to the theme
- Religious freedoms and rights
- Religion-State relations
- Legal perspectives and religion
- Religious perspectives and law
