Stellenbosch University (SU)’s top students who excelled in areas such as academics, sports, leadership and social impact were honoured with Rector’s Awards for Excellent Achievement 2017 on Thursday (5 October 2017). The annual award ceremony took place at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS).
Cecile van Schalkwyk received the award for being the top master’s student in the Faculty of Law and Ashleigh Gordon and Jacques Liebenberg for the top undergraduate students in the Faculty.
Lize-Marie Doubell, Khensani Hlongwane and Pierre Lombard, all final year LLB students, as well as Gideon Basson, a final year BA (Law) student, received the Rector’s award for excellent leadership. Kara Meiring, a pre-final year LLB student, received a Rector’s award for excellent service provision, as well as a Rector’s award for excellent leadership.
