ALSA hosts a Midwinter Braai

South Africa’s overwintering teams (at SANAE IV in Antarctica, on Marion Island and on Gough Island) held their Midwinter celebrations this year on 21 June on the day of the Winter Solstice.  We here in South Africa’s Western Cape also held a Midwinter get together braai (barbecue) in Stellenbosch on 25 June.

We had a wonderful time catching up, meeting new people and sharing stories.  We hope that we can host an even larger event next year.
