More of the SANAP Symposium 2016 – Biological Science Sessions

The four Biological Science Sessions at the 2016 SANAP Symposium held at the University of Pretoria last month (click here) covered a wide range of talks including terrestrial and marine science in the Antarctic, sub-Antarctic and Southern Ocean.  Chuma Phamoli (Deputy Director, Southern Oceans & Antarctic Support, Department of Environmental Affairs) also gave a talk during this session, stating the position of the South African National Antarctic Programme’s involvement in the Antarctic Region.

The four sessions were chaired by Prof Don Cowan (Director, Genomics Research Institute and Director, Centre for Microbial Ecology and Genomics, University of Pretoria), Dr Ryan Reisinger (SANCOR Post-doctoral Fellow, Department of Zoology, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) and Dr Peter le Roux (Senior Lecturer, Plant Science Section: Plant Ecology, University of Pretoria).  Prior to the first Biological Sciences Session, Prof Jean Lubuma (Dean – Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, University of Pretoria) opened the 2016 SANAP Symposium, welcoming all participants.

See Table 1 for links to the institutions involved with SANAP.  Please feel free to contact these institutions for more information.

See Table 2 for authors and titles of talks given during the four sessions.
