Project Background

The project aims to quantify the economic impacts of changes to the Western Cape water supplies resulting from different invasive alien tree control scenarios.

This project will first model the spread of selected invasive alien trees in the Province under different management approaches and associated scenarios of control effectiveness. The impact on the supply of water to the Province will then be modelled for each scenario. Subsequent economic consequences will be modelled to allow the comparison of the management approaches in terms of its economic impacts.
